Senior Level Designer with 3+ years of UE4 experience required
We’re about to start the development of a new AAA-Action game based on a Cult Classic IP. Interested?
Who are we?
Slipgate Ironworks is soon starting development of a new AAA title. Maybe you’ve already played some of our games, such as Rise of the Triad, Rad Rodgers, and most recently Ion Fury, GRAVEN and WRATH: Aeon of Ruin, released under our publishing label 3D Realms.
We love new ideas, and we like to do things differently.
We’re deeply passionate about old-school action games, and our passion for the genre runs deep in our DNA. At our office in Aalborg, Denmark, we are currently 18 people, and we have approx. 120 people working for us around the world.
We are about to embark on a journey, developing a next generation action game, built on new technology (Unreal Engine 5), based on a very well known IP.
As our senior level designer you will be in charge of the different levels and their final quality as well as their technical requirements. You will be taking the lead on our level design pipeline and help us reach our goals timely.
Among your assignments:
- The full level design pipeline: from blockout, set-dressing, gameplay-logic to overall game design flow in collaboration with our design team and creative management.
- Implementation of levels using in house tools and Unreal 5
- Working with blueprints or C++ if you are comfortable with the latter.
- Optimizing the level design pipeline and reviewing what is being pushed by the level design team.
You will work from our studio in Aalborg, Denmark, where there are opportunities for both flex days and working from home. You will refer directly to the creative lead on the project. In general, Slipgate is characterized by a flat organization and a high team spirit, where we get excited about great ideas no matter who brings them up.
Who are you?
We are looking for a minimum of 3 years experience from the gaming industry perhaps with a couple of published titles. If you have experience with consoles it's a huge plus.
You communicate fairly effortlessly in English, are good at problem solving and are able to prioritize your tasks as well as give feedback to others in a precise and constructive way. A certain amount of empathy and patience with others is a clear advantage and communicating clearly is a must.
